Welsh week for the Academy

The Academy was with South Wales Police and with Dyfed-Powys Police over the last week as part of an established relationship with the Home Office forces and partner agencies in Wales.

The two force Designing Out Crime Officers (DOCOs) for South Wales were presented with their ProQual certificates by ACC Jenny Gilmer having achieved the Level 5 designing out crime accredited qualification – one DOCO was a direct entrant on the Academy’s national delivery whilst their colleague used the Academy’s RPEL route (Recognition of Prior Experience & Learning) which enables experienced DOCOs to achieve the Level 5 qualification by using existing work-based evidence.

Dyfed-Powys Police was the next stop for the Academy with our locally-based trainer facilitating face to face delivery of the Level 4 crime prevention accredited qualification.

The Academy is also currently involved in delivering accredited qualifications and bespoke events for delegates from North Wales Police and for Gwent Police, as well as for delegates from partner agencies including Cardiff City Council.
