David has extensive experience of crime prevention education. As a training officer at the Home Office Crime Prevention College, David trained hundreds of students from the police and local authorities. David is also the author of the distance learning packages, Home Security and Passport to Evaluation. From 2001 to 2005, David was the training team leader at the College.
David also worked at Skills for Justice as their Implementation Project Manager, and as a self-employed crime prevention training consultant. David Fernley is now an Associate Assessor for the Crime Prevention Academy.
When not working as an assessor, David is researching and writing his family history, photographing the Yorkshire countryside, and walking his dog.
