June Armstrong - Associate Tutor/Assessor

June is an Associate Tutor with the Police Crime Prevention Academy and has over 25 years'​ experience in crime prevention, community safety, counter terrorism, management, staff development and risk management with the police, the Home Office and the private sector. She is a qualified trainer and assessor and has developed and delivered crime prevention and community safety training at local, national and international levels. June has extensive experience of working with SMEs and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, institute of Risk Managers and the Institute of Conflict Management.

 

She has worked with the N. Ireland Department of Justice on training in crime prevention, partnership working, problem solving and elements of SBD for members of the Police and Community Safety Partnerships. June has also worked with the Scottish Community Safety Network, Neighbourhood Watch, Crimestoppers, the Strategic Centre for Organised Crime, the Local Government Association, the Association of Business Crime Partnerships, the College of Policing, the National Rural Crime Network and was a member of the advisory group of the College of Policing’s national crime prevention strategy.

Her previous roles include project manager for the Crime Reduction Unit at the University of Central Lancashire, running a European funded business crime initiative and the Crime Solutions project in partnership with Portsmouth University. She was business development manager with a large recycling company and manager of a social enterprise, working with HMP Kirkham on a custody to work programme, course director at the Home Office Crime Reduction Centre and Force Crime Prevention Officer/ALO (including counter terrorism) for Lancashire Constabulary.
